These pages are specifically dedicated to winter sports resorts. Hokkaido offers skiiers, snowboarders, telemarkers and cross country enthusiasts some of the best snow conditions in the world. With about six (6) meters of snow in most areas, during an average year, there are plenty of great days to enjoy the snow. The winter season gets into full swing from about mid December onwards to about the end of March. However some resorts are able to open earlier and there tends to be plenty of spring skiing up to about late April and in good years even early May!
