Located in Sapporo’s Higashi Ward at right near Yurigahara Park, Wada Coffee is a traditional Japanese coffee shop with a distinctive retro interior and a collection of antiques, ornaments and vintage objects. The café has a surprisingly substantial food menu. Choices include set meals and lunch plates, along with dishes such as hamburg steak, curry and lasagna. Past menus have also featured bacon-and-egg curry, tortilla pizza and pancakes. For something lighter, there are cake and dessert sets, including homemade-style sweets. 

Coffee is naturally a main feature, with both hot and iced coffee available and different beans and monthly coffee selections appearing on the menu. A coffee and dessert set makes it a good option for an afternoon visit, while the larger meals make Wada Coffee equally suitable for lunch. With its old-fashioned interior, extensive food menu and traditional coffee-shop atmosphere, Wada Coffee is an interesting example of Sapporo’s long-established kissaten culture.
