Gotoken is a small chain of restaurants located in Hakodate and Sapporo (for Sapporo location see below). Gotoken was founded by Sotaro Wakayama way back in 1879. These restaurants are certainly immersed in history. The first chef and co founder, Hidekichi Goshima fought in the battle of Hakodate with the shogunate army in 1897.

Il Chianti was founded back in 1972 and over its long history has established a successful  chain of restaurants throughout the whole of Japan. There are around fifty stores in the country. In Hokkaido, there is only one, and that can be located in the heart of Sapporo.

On the fourth block of the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade, you can find a nice little Indian restaurant. It is on the second floor, next to the Mega Don Quihote shopping mall. Jyoti serves not only as a restaurant but they have extra activities available such as yoga, and also astrology!

This soup curry restaurant can be found in central Kutchan which is by the Niseko skiing resorts. Kutchan is a country town and it is here, Markie Curry gets its fresh ingredients. The vegetables that go into their curries are supplied by local farmers plus Markie Curry has its own farm to grow fresh vegetables.

Handmade Udon Kineya can be found in the underground Apia Food Walk section. It is just a quick walk from either Sapporo station or Sapporo subway station. This udon restaurant (hence the name) is unique as the udon noodles here are handmade right in the store window.

Between Sapporo station and Sapporo subway station there are many restaurants and shopping centres. One of these being the Apia shopping area. Apia has the food walk area. It is here you can find the Wan Zhu Ji Chinese restaurant.

Tamago to Watashi is an omelette and rice restaurant. The name 'Tamago to Watashi' literally translates to "Egg and Me". It is one of a dozen restaurants that can be found in the Apia food walkway. This restaurant is part of a chain of omelette and rice restaurants that can be found throughout Japan.

There are two Jimmy Brown Cafe & Dining restaurants in the city of Sapporo. One being in central Sapporo, the other out on the western side of the city up in the mountains. The menu here has a few food items, including some pastas and some curry and rice dishes including a butter chicken curry and a chorizo curry
