The Kushiro Shitsugen National park (better known as the Kushiro Marshland) is a national park, located to the north of Kushiro on the eastern side of Hokkaido. The park is known for its wetlands ecosystems. 'Shitsugen' translates to wetlands in English. It was designated as a national park on 31 July 1987. Il Chianti was founded back in 1972 and over its long history has established a successful chain of restaurants throughout the whole of Japan. There are around fifty stores in the country. In Hokkaido, there is only one, and that can be located in the heart of Sapporo. It is directly across from Odori park. The restaurant has comfortable outside seating with views of the park and down the street. It is part of the Resol Trinity Hotel, so it is the go to for guests who stay there whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The lunches here are really good and really affordable. You definitely get your money worth here. The lunch menu has a choice of around five large dishes plus a buffet salad, soup, and a drink. This will put you back around ¥1000. As this restaurant is such a large space, reservations are available for parties. There are three different party plans to choose from. these include an all you can drink plan. Il Chianti has some good wines that go well with your meal. The food here is primarily Italian plus a few extra western dishes thrown onto the menu.
