The Kushiro Shitsugen National park (better known as the Kushiro Marshland) is a national park, located to the north of Kushiro on the eastern side of Hokkaido. The park is known for its wetlands ecosystems. 'Shitsugen' translates to wetlands in English. It was designated as a national park on 31 July 1987. Lunch set!

Ootoya is a nice, large restaurant located in the dining section of Maruyama class. Ootoya is a great option if you are looking for a big lunch or dinner at a reasonable price. For just under ￥1000 you can get a set meal with rice, a miso soup, a salad, and some vegetables! Most of the dishes are around this place which is a good bargain for some nice food. The spacious restaurant has plenty of seating, and is good for couples or groups. The menu is in Japanese only, but each dish is pictured, so it is easy to choose and order.

So, what is on the menu? At Ootoya, there is a lot to choose from! This restaurant has a selection of chicken dishes, such as a basil chicken or a fried chicken known as ‘zangi’ in Hokkaido. Other Japanese dishes include both soba and udon noodles, which both comes in a set. There are also fish and pork dishes that can be ordered. For a little extra, there are plenty of side dishes to go with your meal if need be. There is a separate kids meal for the young ones, plus if you are in a rush, then there take away packs to feast on later. With all the meals you can order beer, juices or spirits for dinner.
