There happens to be only one Western Union in the whole of Hokkaido. And that Western Union is in Kutchan. Kutchan is about an hour and forty minute drive from Sapporo. The town is adjacent to Niseko and is part of the hustle and bustle of the ski season and is bustling with travelers and locals during the winter. The Western Union here opens midday until 6pm. It is open everyday which is very nice to know. It is located in the ‘Lucky Supermarket’ near the front entrance. There are also two ATM’s located at the supermarket which is also extremely handy to have at hand. These ATM’s take all cards. The staff here are very friendly and they have English ability. The process to send money takes about ten minutes. You will need a form of ID to send money, so with that simply fill out the form.
