Karayama is a large chain of restaurants throughout Japan. There are two locations in Hokkaido and they happen to be in Sapporo and in the adjoining city of Ebetsu. Karayama specializes in ‘karaage’. Karaage is essentially bite-size pieces of chicken thigh dusted with flour and deep-fried in hot oil. This popular dish is eaten in many Japanese households.
