Located in the Factory Shopping Complex, Ebisu Tei Chinese restaurant is part of the restaurant section that can be found on the B1 floor. The restaurant area can be found right next to the ‘Atrium’ which is the main hub of Factory. At Ebisu Tei, after a days shopping and taking in the sights you can enjoy some cheap and delicious Chinese cuisine here. They have reasonable prices and the lunch menu is a popular choice! The set meals come with a small salad, and egg soup, and some pickled vegetables to go with your main meal.

Ebisu Tei Chinese restaurant has a good selection of Chinese dishes on its menu. They have pork and beef dishes as well a soups, noodles, chili dishes, fried chicken, and vegetable dishes. There are two extra set meals, one that comes with and additional ramen bowl, and the most expensive set that also throws in a dessert plus the other extras already mentioned. The ramen here is recommended. The drink menu has tea, soft drinks and beer. While at Factory and looking for some Chinese cuisine, then this restaurant is a good option, especially if you’re on a budget!

Kopi Tiam is a Singaporean style restaurant that can be found in central Sapporo. It is part of the Tanuki Koji arcade that is one of the main hubs for tourists. This restaurant is a very popular bar and reservations are needed especially for groups! With its design and menu and drink list, its a collective fusion of south east Asian influences. You can enjoy some spicy dishes all the while swigging on Singaporean beer such as Tiger beer. At Kopi Tiam you can order set meals or order individually.

There is an extensive menu of spicy goodness. You can enjoy some great Singaporean dishes such as ‘Mi Rebus'(noodles in a curry sauce), ‘Mie Goreng'(spicy noodles), Bak Kut Teh which is a pork rib dish cooked in broth, or Sambal Kang Kong (spicy vegetable dish). They also have dumplings, soups, fried rice, and of course chicken satay sticks! Apart from Tiger beer, this restaurant has an imported bass pale ale, as well as a San Miguel Beer. Kopi Tiam also has an all you can drink party plan that is about ¥4000 per person. For a Singaporean flavor while in Japan Koi Tiam is a unique restaurant in Sapporo.

Toriton Sushi is a successful chain of restaurants that can be found throughout Hokkaido, primarily in Sapporo. There are four sushi restaurants and two sushi conveyor belt restaurants, also known as kaiten-zushi restaurants, in the Sapporo area. Hokkaido is famous for its seafood and the sushi here is no exception! When looking for a sushi restaurant, Toriton is a great choice. They have a great selection of sushi, with alternative menus set out in English.

As with all kaiten-zushi restaurants, you pay by the plate, with two pieces of sushi per plate. For sushi restaurants you can order more by pieces. The plate prices range from ¥120 to ¥650 per plate, so you can play it cheap or indulge a little for those high end sushi pieces. They also have noodles and some fried chicken which is a nice option as well. The hot green tea is free, and goes well with your Japanese cuisine experience. If you are looking for something a little stronger, they have beer as well as sake.

Fugetsu is part of a huge chain of Okonomiyaki stores that are found throughout Hokkaido. For more details on the various locations in Sapporo, you can find them here at Fugetsu Okonomiyaki is a Japanese dish of a savory batter mixed with your choice of ingredients. These usually include eggs and shredded cabbage, green onion, meat (generally thin pork belly, often mistaken for bacon), octopus, squid, shrimp, vegetables, konjac, mochi or cheese.

As with other okonomiyaki restaurants, you can cook it yourself on the hotplates that are in the restaurant. Simply order your ingredients, and then mix them in the bowl. After making a thick paste, pour it onto the hotplate and cook both sides, like a pancake. Simply top it of with fish flakes, mayonnaise, and shaved green dried seaweed. Beer and soft drinks are available to go with. Located in Asabu, (the last stop on the Nanboku line) its an easy restaurant to find for a nice lunch or late dinner. Enjoy!

Aspeila is a rest stop, a local market, souvenir shop, and restaurant all rolled into one. It can be easily found on route 230, which is the main road from Sapporo to Rusutsu. Just look for the large sign and two asparagus characters on the main building. It is a great spot to do some shopping for souvenirs or food, where you can buy a whole range of vegetables produced by local farmers. These delicious (and large) vegetables can be bought in bulk and for a great bargain! The greengrocers here makes up one part of Aspeila.

The souvenir shop also sells local foods famous in the area. There is also a restaurant and bathrooms here. It is here, at this restaurant, you can order some great udon or soba noodles. Alternatively, there is a delicious vegetable curry and rice, or a katsu curry (deep-fried cutlet of chicken or pork) that is on the menu. These meals are all under ¥1000 making them good value for money! To get here you will need your own transport, the drive taking about one and a half hours. There is a bus stop out the front, and the buses run from Sapporo station to Kimobetsu five times a day.

Sakanova is a Sapporo beer bar that can be found on the ground floor of the U’Slab building. The U’Slab building is made up of four restaurants, each with their own specific style of food, whether it be Asian or European. Sakanova is a casual and cozy bar that has an outside seating option which is fantastic during the warmer months. It is here you can enjoy some good beer with accompanying dishes. At this bar, there are some good bottled Hokkaido beers that are available to sip on. They also have some European beers as well.

The menu is in Japanese or English, so ordering is no problem. The menu has a Spanish flair with a lot of small dishes to try. You can dine on some seafood dishes such as anchovies, sardines, salmon or sea urchin. Think of these delicacies drizzled with olive oil with bread to mop up with. There are a few tofu dishes with added spice and some vegetarian dishes. Sakanova also has a delicious Thai curry which adds diversity to its menu. Meat dishes include duck, pork, and chicken, so there is plenty to choose from, not only for vegetarians but also those with carnivorous persuasions. Enjoy!
