Mohan Dish has two restaurants in the city of Sapporo. They both have the same items on the menu. They have dozens of delicious Indian meals to enjoy and you will have no problem finding your favorite dishes. Mohan Dish has is open both for lunch and for dinner and each have their own special set meals. Over forty spices are used and selected to create the authentic taste of India. To go with the meal, they have a total of eleven different types of naan to mop up and dip into your curry.

The set meals include a choice of three side dishes. One being a naan set, another the rice set, and the third being a half and half including both. Spice levels range from mainly zero to five. If you want to go for a higher spice level, then you can talk to the staff. For large groups, you can opt for a party plan. This is ¥2700 per person, and comes with an alcoholic drink and a number of dishes and naan. Whether it is lunch or dinner, extras on the menu include delicious tandoori chicken, salads and vegetables. For drinks you can enjoy some mouth cooling lassis.

In the Obihiro area, there is a famous chain of curry restaurants, known as ‘Indian Curry’. There are ten of these restaurants and can be recognized by their cartoon logo. As with its namesake, the curry here is inspired by the flavors from India. The Indian Curry chain has a long history going back to 1968, with the opening of the first store. The original president of the company was an avid movie goer and had a passion for Hollywood movies in particular. All of the curry restaurants have movie posters of famous iconic actors. The posters vary depending on the age when each store opened.
The delicious curry here is cheap and served with steaming bed of rice. There are three kinds of base flavors of curry sauce. These being a beef based curry sauce, an onion based curry sauce, and a potato and onion sauce. As for the servings themselves, there are about half a dozen different dishes on the menu. For example, a seafood curry, vegetable curry, cutlet, chicken, or a beef curry. Toppings can be added for a more delicious taste. This curry chain is well known throughout Hokkaido and in Obihiro you may have to line up to get into one of the Indian Curry restaurants. Lumbini is a small chain of restaurants that can be found on the south eastern coast of Hokkaido. There is a restaurant in one of the main coastal cities, all on the way down to Cape Erimo. These city towns include Hidaka, Urakawa, and Shizunai. At these restaurants you can enjoy some cuisine with the taste of Asia such as India and Nepal. Many of the ingredients mirror those of Himalayan villages. Many of the spices used in their dishes are imported directly from India and made to perfection by the trained chefs, to give their dishes and authentic taste.
The menu has a wide variety of dishes such as tomato-based, spinach-based, onion-based, and bean-based curries. Lumbini also has soup curries, noodles, salads, drinks, and desserts. The menus at each restaurant are generally the same with set meals and lunch sets, though they each have their own individual special meals to enjoy. All these meals are very affordable at around ¥1000. Side dishes include delicious naan, and salads. The drink menu includes lassis, and ‘chia’ which is a Nepalese tea.

On the fourth block of the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade, you can find a nice little Indian restaurant. It is on the second floor, next to the Mega Don Quihote shopping mall. Jyoti serves not only as a restaurant but they have extra activities available such as yoga, and also astrology! You can find all your favorite Indian dishes on their menu. For lunch, there are five different lunch sets to choose from that come with naan or rice, a salad, tandoori chicken and two curries. These sets also come with your choice of drink. The dinner menu is extensive and comes with an assortment of dishes, naans, and rice.
For those who are in groups there is the option of selecting a party plan, from which there are five to choose from . These delicious sets include curries, side dishes, naan bread, salads, dessert, and drinks. Naturally, the bigger the set, the more expensive. Unique to this restaurant is that they offer yoga classes. On Saturdays before opening, the classes are held in a cozy space for up to five people. Everything is supplied and after you can enjoy a vegetarian curry. Indian astrology is said to be the origin of astrology, and it can help guide you through life. Jyoti offers astrology sessions for 1 hour. They provide mantras for results from the planets. To construct a chart, you are required the exact date, time and place of birth. From Sapporo to Jozankei the main road is called Ishiyama Dori. Along this route you can find a few restaurants to drop into to grab a bite while on the road. One of these restaurants is Indo Curry Aman. It is a convenient place as it has plenty of parking. It is also directly next door to a soup curry restaurant so you can take your pick. The meals here are your typical Indian fare. They have a variety of curries that are served up with naan bread or rice and come with extras.
The menu is in Japanese and in English so its easy to order. They have a variety of chicken dishes such as Butter Chicken, Palak Chicken (a spinach based curry), or a Chicken Labab (served with eggplant). Other curries include a choice of mutton curries, seafood curries, or vegetable curries. They also have a special kids curry menu. The spice level ranges from one to four. Lunchtime has a special set menu, plus for extra all the meals come with extra toppings. This is the only Indian curry restaurant in this small local area.
