King Xhmu is one of the biggest clubs in Sapporo and Hokkaido, if not the biggest. The club has a striking edifice, that of stone serpents and a giant Aztecan face bearing down over the street. The inside is equally impressive with a three story high interior decked out with cool designs such as silver gilded snakes, skulls, and a giant bird of prey spreading its wings over the bar. The club has a main dance floor area with a stage, two bars, a smaller dance floor on the second floor plus a women’s sitting area. The club is mostly popular after 23:00 where it gets busy.

For those entering the club, after showing ID, party goers will realize that men have to pay more than their female counterparts. Women are usually free. For those unfamiliar with the club, the cost is around ¥3500 for men. The club, although of its large size, has a relatively small dance area and standing area. A lot of the club is made up of (and usually empty) VIP lounge areas that a cordoned off from the main area. These VIP areas are the only places to sit in the club unfortunately, so unless you want to spend up to an extra ¥20,000 you have to stand. Cocktails, beers, and champagne are sold at the bar. Cocktails are served in small plastic cups and the small plastic shot glasses are rarely filled to the top. It’s better to order bottled beer to get your moneys worth. Drinks are around ¥500. Jinx is a relatively new club in the heart of Susukino, Sapporo. The club caters for tourists and for a younger crowd. Unlike most other clubs in Sapporo, it is free entry! The age limit to get in is from twenty years old, and there is no dress code. For entrance into the club is not obvious at first but it’s easy to find. Along the main road through Susukino (entertainment district) you can find the large Round One building. Simply enter this building and take the escalator down. There will be Jinx staff standing out the front to guide patrons in.
The variety of music here, includes allmix, EDM, house, hiphop, R&B, reggae, electronic, and live. There are small tables and chairs inside the main floor, plus a dance floor. With a capacity for eight hundred party goers, it’s spacious and is a good spot for groups of friends. The average age group is usually in the low twenties. There are VIP areas that have couches and tables so if you want to kick back in a bit of style, simply enquire at the entrance. With free access, Jinx is not a bad spot to check out when you are out on the town. Being open until the early hours, it’s an option at any time.

If you are looking for a night out in Sapporo, put Booty on the list. With the music and drinks flowing, Booty Discotheque & Lounge is a great club that has been going since 2002. Over its colorful history, it’s been a local favorite by expats, Japanese and tourists alike! The club is run by a fantastic husband & wife team. One being a local expat, cognac connoisseur and international DJ. The other half of the duo who is busy around the bar, being from Sapporo. They have put together a top spot made up of two levels, plus a beer garden out the back which is perfect during the summer. The whole space is available to rent on weekdays at ¥25,000 per floor, per night. The ground floor has a bar area, DJ booth and dance floor (which gets busy by midnight) and small lounge area. The next floor up has a bar, DJ booth, and a large comfortable lounge area where you can sit back and relax with friends.

It is also here on the second floor, they have a small dining area. Booty serves up some of the best hamburgers you will find anywhere in Hokkaido! We challenge you to find better! Among the dishes and desserts, the menu has five mouth watering burgers that are served with fries and olives. Each burger is made to perfection in front of you using local Hokkaido beef. And while you’re here, try some of the wine or sake on the menu. The great thing about this club (which you won’t find anywhere else) is that it’s free to get in! It’s easy to drop in, buy a drink from the super friendly staff, and enjoy well mixed tunes from the in house DJ’s!
