Meer Lounge is a cool and trendy spot in the busy shopping arcade of Tanuki-koji. Located underground in a cave like setting, it’s a large restaurant that is popular for couples, small groups and parties. There are private rooms available to hire for groups of six, fourteen , and twenty people. The space can also be rented for wedding afterparties of up to forty to eighty guests with a DJ booth and projector! For all occasions you can enjoy a good selection of food plus a drinking plan from their extensive menu.

Yoshoku Keniya is a homely restaurant located in Noboribetsu, and is a six minute drive from the Noboribetsu Onsen area. It is especially nice during the cherry blossom season at the beginning of May, as the restaurant is on the road leading from the Noboribetsu Higashi Interchange also known as the ‘Flower Tunnel’ during the cherry blossom season. With thousands of cherry blossom trees along the road, Yoshoku Keniya is a good place for a spot of lunch. There is parking available.

The name ‘Yoshoku’ means ‘western’ in Japanese, and this is the kind of food hungry customers can find on the menu! The menu has rice and omelette, cheese and hamburg steaks, spicy pork cutlets on rice, curry rice, and spaghetti to name a few. The food is very good and is a popular spot. The drink menu has beverages of tea, coffee, juice. Yoshoku Keniya, is also located near the Jigoku Hell Valley so there is a lot to see around this restaurant!

Kyushu Tavern Fuuri is a Japanese style izakaya located in Paseo dining area, Sapporo. They have a good selection of Japanese dishes whether it be for single meals or for large parties. This large restaurant has an extensive menu that has set meals that come with a miso soup and salad. The menu has shabu-shabu (hot pot), Miyazaki chicken namba, Japanese curries, tempura, omelettes, fried rice, noodles, salads, and rice dishes, to name just a few. If you are looking for more than a nice lunch or quiet dinner, then there are rooms available for parties, where banquet courses are available. The banquet course, depending on price, has from seven to nine different courses. There are ‘nomihodai’ all you can drink plans included. These courses and all you can drink plans go for two hours at a set price! The drink menu includes beer (Suntory Malts), whiskeys, Japanese sake, cocktails, and soft drinks. Fukuzumi is a soba restaurant that is set out in a traditional Japanese setting. Soba is a traditional thin buckwheat noodle served either hot or cold. Fukuzumi serves up some delicious Japanese dishes with soba noodles as a set dish. The menu comes in Japanese with pictures, as well as an English menu that has information about Soba noodles. Fukuzumi can be found across from Nakajima Park, which makes it a good spot to grab some lunch after some sightseeing in the park.

The meals at Fukuzumi Soba, are mainly set dishes which come with a small bowl of soba noodles, a soup, some pickled vegetables, and a plain rice. Future Curry Koris is an Indian style restaurant located in Sapporo. Unlike most Indian restaurants, Future Curry Koris is Japanese run. Their base menu is similar to that of other Indian restaurants, but they also have an Indian and Japanese fusion of side dishes that go with your main meal. This restaurant has a cozy feel to its layout, with antique style tables and chairs. It also has heating for the colder winter months. There is quite a lot to choose from on the menu, though it’s only in Japanese unfortunately.

The menu has the usual chicken, lamb, and vegetable curries. They have Palak (curries using spinach), Masala curries, and butter curries. If you are looking for something spicier, than you can browse the ‘very hot’ section. Future Curry Koris also have Korma curries, and other curries from southern India. If you’re looking for a tasty souvenir as a gift or for a Japanese snack to take home, then Harimaya Senbei could be the place for you! Senbei are a type of Japanese rice cracker. They come in various shapes, sizes, and flavors, usually savory but sometimes sweet. Senbei are often eaten with green tea as a casual snack and offered to visiting house guests as a courtesy refreshment. This store has over thirty kinds of boxed sembei at this store. If you can’t decide on which sembei to buy, there are glass containers with sembei inside. Feel free to sample these rice crackers at your leisure and choose the one that takes your fancy! The sembei are from all over Japan. Sold in small box sets, they make for an ideal souvenir to take home. Of course, if you want to sit down and have some green tea and munch away on your tasty purchase, then there are half a dozen small tables at which to sit.
