Beifutei is one of those bars that have an old atmosphere to it, like the inns of old. The interior is made up of dark wood which has seen many years. The leather couches that make up the dining booths are comfortable. These booths are perfect for small groups to enjoy some good beer and good bar food. There are tables out the back and there is ample counter seating. This bar is a late night bar and is usually quite full even in the later hours. The food here is a fusion of western bar food and Japanese noodles.

On the menu there are some fantastic dry noodle dishes. There are some spicy elements that can be enjoyed and these dishes really do go well with beer. Other dishes you can enjoy include are delicious fish and chips that pack an English style punch. The beer here flows well plus there are other drinks to be had. Wine and cocktails and spirits can all be enjoyed here at Beifutei. Being open until 3:00am on the weekends is very handy especially for those who don’t want the party to end. The Den is a well known bar that is famous for being an international bar in the city of Asahikawa. This bar was originally run by an Australian national and has been going ever since. It is a western style pub that serves up a variety of international beers. This bar is also a sports bar where the customers can enjoy their favorite sports. There is a large screen to show the latest events. The bar has counter seating, where you can chat to the friendly bar tender. This is a comfortable atmosphere to meet the locals, speak English and enjoy a drink.

This bar serves up some bar food. Being an international bar you can find a variety of different dishes to choose from. Amusement Space Guild or better known simply as “Guild” can be found in the heart of the drinking district in Asahikawa. It is on the 5th floor and as the name suggests, is a place to go out with some friends and have a few drinks. The bar has a large counter area plus small tables and couches for small groups. This bar is also good for larger groups who are looking to celebrate! There is an electronic darts board here as well as a large screen for parties. The drinks can be ordered individually or you can go for a party plan which includes an ‘all you can drink option’.

There is a hourly charge of ¥500 per person. For the 90 minute drinking option, that costs ¥2500. For 12o minutes, it’s ¥3000. They have beer here plus over a hundred different cocktails to choose from! Besides the darts, there is karaoke, a large screen, and party games. Amusement Space Guild is a pretty good place to check out if you are on the night out in Asahikawa. It can be a quiet place to sit at the counter for a couple or a fun time to spend with a group of friends.

Amalfi is a really great place to check out while experiencing the nightlife of Sapporo. During the summer months, this nicely designed bar and restaurant has an opening out onto the street, making it a comfortable space to wine and dine. Amalfi serves as a bar and as a dining space. They have some really delicious food here, but first let’s look at the drink menu. Quite affordable, the drinks are well presented and mixed to perfection by the professional staff. The food here is equally well presented. They have some really fantastic small dishes to nibble on and which compliments the drink. For oyster lovers, they have delicious fresh oysters on ice, plus dried tomatoes drizzled in olive oil, olives, and cheeses to name a few. If you are more peckish, Amalfi specializes in Italian cuisine. They have pastas and pizzas on the menu. There is counter seating for couples or for those on their own, plus there are booths for up to four people on one side of the bar, and out the back, there is more space for those wishing for a bigger party. Amalfi is definitely worth a visit if you are out of town. You won’t be disappointed.

The Craft is a fantastic craft beer bar and can be found right by the main crossroads the are the famous entry point into Susukino. This bar with its outside seating in summer and huge choice of craft beer make it a great spot to go out with friends and enjoy good food and good beer. Firstly, there are party plans that are great for groups and get togethers. The Craft also has something unique compared to other craft beer bars and that is an all you can drink option (nomihodai). They have over 2o different craft beers to enjoy. Ordering a sampler is a good idea!
The food here equally fantastic. There is a predominantly Italian flavor that serves up some great food. There are a lot of pastas, delicious Hokkaido oysters and here they have six kinds of fresh carpaccio, grilled mushrooms with prosciutto, and shrimp ajillo. The most famous dish here though is the Chicago pizza. Chicago Pizza is a pizza with a thick, high crust. The toppings are mixed together creating a filling and delicious pizza. There are 7 different types of Chicago pizzas on the menu. There are some good meat dishes on the menu here too!

Zanshin is a cool little bar in Susukino, Sapporo. It is particularly well known to snowboarders, skiers, and skateboarders. The staff here are and were semi pro skiers and snowboarders and definitely bring friendliness and some wildness to the bar! The Sapporo classic here on tap is ¥500 a glass (a little cheaper than most places), and the cocktails are the same. A lot of the patrons are regulars and the atmosphere is very laid back and fun. There is some counter seating plus a couple of couches and tables fro larger groups.
There is also a very small upstairs area that has room for sitting only. There are a couple of basic food dishes that the staff can cook up for you. This includes a nice curry and rice bowl. This bar opens quite late at 21:00 and kicks on to the early hours of the morning. It can get busy around 1:00 to 2:00 in the morning. The bar is on the 5th floor and is above the club ‘Riviera’ which is on the basement floor. After the club closes, many revelers tend to head up to Zanshin. This is a fun bar with great staff and cheap beer! A good night out.
