Lake Toya is a beautiful lake which is a two hour drive south of Sapporo. This scenic area has plenty of camp grounds and hotels. On the northern side of the lake, you can find a great coffee shop which is perfect for a lunch or early dinner. The cafe is across from the Tourist Information Centre, and is also a small walk from the Ko Park Camping Ground making it a popular spot for campers as well as those stopping in for a bite, or a nice cup of coffee. During the warmer season, Cafe Lake Toya has outside seating so you can enjoy scenery.

The lunch menu, which runs until three thirty in the afternoon, has a nice selection of delicious dishes. On the menu, you can find a beef on rice dish, a tandoori chicken, a beans keema curry, or a vegetarian galette with local vegetables, to name a few. You can enjoy these dishes in homely surroundings and for and extra ¥200 you can get the drink set menu. If you are looking for something small to go with your tea or coffee, Cafe Lake Toya makes some delicious pastries that you can buy at the counter. The hamburg set
The food menu has quite a lot to choose from that especially suits for a brunch. There is french toast with fruit, eggs benedict, a butter chicken curry with toast, and a cheddar cheese & maple syrup french toast. Cafe Bidama have their own style of okonomiyaki (a popular pan-fried dish that consists of batter and cabbage). They have a shrimp & avocado type, and a prune type okonomiyaki. There are lunch sets as well including a hamburg set which comes with miso, salads, and rice. At cafe Bidama, you can pick up a magazine there, settle in to a nice chair and enjoy a lunch & coffee.

Special wines
Among the ornaments and crafts, Select 108 also sells clothing. Here you can find some great Japanese ‘yukatas’ (casual style of a kimono, usually worn during the summer and at onsen hotels). They also sell some fantastic wines, sweets and other snacks that are home to Hokkaido. Select 108 also has a small cafe on its premises, with plenty of outside seating in which to enjoy a cup coffee, or one of their delicious cakes. After shopping, there is a nice restaurant across the road, Toya Arts & Crafts that you can have a nice lunch.

Relax with a coffee
For appetizers there are Italian Olives, Fried Potato With Truffle Salt, or Fried Chicken. Inside there are artworks for customers to enjoy. As the name suggests, Toya Art & Crafts focuses on local craft blended with good local produce, wine & coffee. They have some delicious organic wines, and Hokkaido craft beers to choose from such as an Otaru Pilsner or the North Island Brown to name a few.
