This is a great coffee shop in the north west of Sapporo. Cafe Morita Coffee serves as a coffee shop, restaurant, and as a small gifts store. This coffee shop uses freshly ground coffee beans. These coffee beans can be purchased at the store in packets of 100grams. There are three kinds of coffee beans to choose from. You can order up to a kilogram of coffee beans but you have to pre order first. The coffee here is pretty good! Apart from coffee you can also have tea. So, thats for drinks but Cafe Morita has a lot more to offer. As soon as you enter the coffee shop there is a small goods area on the left. You are welcome to peruse at your leisure and find some small goods to purchase if you find something you like.

Apart from the shop and coffee one of they have some hearty food here. Cafe Morita Coffee has some great dishes on their menu. Their big recommendation is the “Spicy Curry”. The curry will cost you ¥1000 and is a tomato based curry that is served with rice and chapati. The three spice levels range from normal to very spicy. Keeping with the spicy theme, there is a ‘Khao Pad’ which is a spicy Thai rice, a curry porridge called ‘Calcutta Guru. For something not spicy, try the ham and cheese hot sandwich or the bacon and eggs. A recent addition to the menu is some sweets and cakes which can be taken home.

A very unique and cozy bar in central Sapporo. The theme has a jazz blues style going on reminiscent of a small bar down in New Orleans. Crowding the walls and roof are trinkets, statues, and posters from all around. Seating wise, there are a couple of counter seats and a couple more small tables. This bar is best to drink in very small of groups of up to 4.  The bar is singularly run by the owner. He speaks very little English however. The menu has mainly beer and cocktails on the menu. Drinks go for about ¥600 per drink, as well as the cocktails. There is a sit down charge of at least ¥500 per person so be warned as many customers are surprised when the bill comes. This is a cozy bar and has a great little atmosphere plus you can find some classic bottled beers here such as Budweiser, Corona, Kirin, and Guiness to name a few.

This is primarily a bar though they do have some food here, albeit basic bar food. The name does say cafe and they do have coffee here and some cakes to enjoy. Overall, a good little bar to check out while in Sapporo.

Perch is a great homely coffee shop in Sapporo. It has been set up in one of the houses in area and serves not only as a cafe, but as a bar and also as an arts and crafts store! On the first floor there are comfortable chairs plus tables for larger groups, and a kitchen area where the friendly owner cooks up some nice lunches and homemade desserts. For lunch or dinners they have pastas, smoked sausages, and a delicious keema curry. There is also a selection of spirits and wines if you are looking for something stronger than coffee.

The desserts here are fantastic. The caramel pudding is homemade, as well as the cheesecake. Both are equally delicious and are the perfect accompaniment to a nice cup of coffee or tea. As well as the dining area, there is a tatami room as well that has some nice handmade crafts for sale. A nice little Japanese touch to the place. On the 2nd floor you can find some more items, handmade dolls and cups and saucers, plus Japanese memorabilia to purchase. Perch is a nice cafe/bar and is very affordable making it a good place for a quiet lunch or dinner or it even serves as a party venue for large groups if need be!
