This is a convenient coffee shop along the main walkway that runs between Sapporo Station and Sapporo subway station. It is usually quite busy and can be difficult to find seating for more than three people. Once inside, though, you can enjoy a large selection of coffees, teas and soft drinks. The coffees include some delicious caramel and chocolate mixers. Drinks here are about the ¥800 mark. Ueshima Coffee also includes sets that include a food dish as they do also serve food here. The food here includes sandwiches, pastas and desserts. The sandwiches here aren’t bad. The BLT with egg is quite good. These sets are just over the ¥1200 mark but make for a nice quick lunch. This cafe being in the busy location that its in is one of only a couple of coffee shops in the area make it a busy spot but a good spot to take a rest while shopping or as a place to wait for your train.

There is small counter seating here and most of the small tables here only cater for two or three people at the most. For those looking for a power outlet to charge the phone or to plug in a laptop and do some work, there are a few of these spotted around the place. Enjoy!

Miyataya Coffee was founded in 1989 in Kiyota Ward, Sapporo. Initially, it was set up as a specialty coffee shop for offices, but after setting up tasting tables in the roasting factory, it began operating as a cafe. As it stands today, there are over half a dozen stores in the Sapporo area. Most of the cafe stores are roadside establishments renovated from brick or stone warehouses or old houses. These cozy places create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy some good coffee. They have a selection of coffees plus a variety of teas at their stores. Food wise, they make their own sandwiches by hand every morning at the Toyohira store and delivered fresh to each store. They also have other foods, including pastas and Japanese curries. Miyataya is a comfortable place to enjoy a coffee and the success of their chain stores is a testament to their coffee.

The toasted bread here is particularly good as well as the english teas. Lunches here will only set you back ¥1000 which includes a meal and a coffee. For your nearest store, check the map above and enjoy your Miyataka Coffee.

Soiree is a pretty interesting cafe and diner on a corner in northern Sapporo. It is run by a nice elderly couple. Although they speak no English they are very friendly and accommodating. This cafe is reminiscent of those old sixties diners. They have large counter seating plus some small tables lining the windows that face the street. They have blinds instead of curtains which creates the scene. It is not a really easy coffee shop to access and most of their clientele will be regulars who live in the area. They have some nice cafe food here and decent coffee. Smoking is allowed here, hence the sixties feel. On the menu, there are some pastas, hamburger steaks, plus fried chicken and curries. Each dish looks pretty appetizing! This is an old cafe but the layout and style makes it for a cool dining experience. Enjoy!

The coffees here are sufficient. The best thing about this place is the food and the atmosphere. The coffee is cheap and the lunch sets are affordable. You are looking at around ¥1000 which is a good price for a lunch or dinner.

Mermaid Coffee Roasters is a nice coffee shop located in Sapporo on the 1st block of the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade. It has two floors as well as outside seating which faces directly onto the arcade. It is a popular spot and you can either enjoy your coffee indoors or get take away. Mermaid Coffee Roasters is just across from Soseigawa Park which is a nice place to sit and relax in Sapporo. The decor has an air of fantasy about it with warm colors, a cloud like ceiling and sculptures around the store. One thing this coffee shop that others don’t is that they have free coffee samples in the store. You can sample up to about ten different coffees. There is a not much food here and they primarily focus on coffee. They have same hand made cakes here to have with your coffee. Downstairs there are benches and upstairs is more for lounges and a more homely atmosphere. This is a good coffee shop to enjoy while in Sapporo.

There are no plugs to use charge your computer here so might not be perfect for those wishing to work while they have a coffee. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and are very good. This is a good coffee to enjoy!

This is a great coffee shop in the north west of Sapporo. Cafe Morita Coffee serves as a coffee shop, restaurant, and as a small gifts store. This coffee shop uses freshly ground coffee beans. These coffee beans can be purchased at the store in packets of 100grams. There are three kinds of coffee beans to choose from. You can order up to a kilogram of coffee beans but you have to pre order first. The coffee here is pretty good! Apart from coffee you can also have tea. So, thats for drinks but Cafe Morita has a lot more to offer. As soon as you enter the coffee shop there is a small goods area on the left. You are welcome to peruse at your leisure and find some small goods to purchase if you find something you like.

Apart from the shop and coffee one of they have some hearty food here. Cafe Morita Coffee has some great dishes on their menu. Their big recommendation is the “Spicy Curry”. The curry will cost you ¥1000 and is a tomato based curry that is served with rice and chapati. The three spice levels range from normal to very spicy. Keeping with the spicy theme, there is a ‘Khao Pad’ which is a spicy Thai rice, a curry porridge called ‘Calcutta Guru. For something not spicy, try the ham and cheese hot sandwich or the bacon and eggs. A recent addition to the menu is some sweets and cakes which can be taken home.
