For those of you who have a sweet tooth, then ‘Shall We Sweets’ may be the place for you. Opened in 2009, Shall We Sweets is a buffet style restaurant / coffee shop / cake store located on the 8th floor of the Parco restaurant section. The name is inspired from the feel good Japanese cult movie “Shall we Dance?”. The sweets are made by pastry chefs, and are served buffet style so you can indulge into the sweeter things in life. This restaurant is a nice spot for tea, or coffee which has some seats with window views.

Shall We Sweets not only have a never ending supply of chocolates, cakes, and other confectionery but they also serve up meals that are kinder to the waistline. The other buffet meals, include a selection of salads, vegetable and pasta dishes. Caffè mocha
Tsubara Tsubara is a great little coffee shop in west Sapporo. A hidden gem that has a great atmosphere! The menu has a delicious choice of teas and coffees. And what better to enjoy your coffee or tea, but with something sweet! Tsubara Tsubara also has a menu of mouth watering cakes and biscuits. Tsubara Tsubara is down a small side street, so to find it easily, check the map! It is near the west end of Odori park, and about a 10 minute walk from the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art.

Tsubara Tusbara coffee shop has a special deal with a sweets shop called ‘Capsule Monster’. Capsule monster is located in Space 1-15 , and was voted as one of the best confectionery shops in Hokkaido! If you buy any sweets from Capsule Monster, then you will get a ￥100 discount on any drinks at Tsubara Tsubara coffee. You are also more than welcome to bring anything you buy from Capsule Monster and have it with your coffee or tea! It’s a great relationship these two well stores share. For a good day out, a visit to the Hokkaido Museum, a bit of shopping at Space 1-15, then top off with a relaxing coffee at Tsubara Tsubara!

Space 1-15 was originally a residential building called, “Château le Rêve” (Castle of Dreams). A soap dealer decided to open one shop in one of the rooms. Since that simple beginning, Space 1-15 has blossomed into unique building in which every room has become a small shop, run by store owners and artisans. Space 1-15 features around 20 shops from the second to the fifth floor, including cafés, clothing shops, sundries, art books, used records, and artisans’ workshops. A little oasis for art and design lovers alike!

To get into the building you will need to be buzzed in. Simply choose one of the many shop intercom buttons and they will happily let you in. Once inside, there is an elevator or steps to access the shops. The beauty of Space 1-15, is that each shop has been refurbished from the same size apartment, so its interesting to go from room to room and see each style and design. Space 1-15 also organizes seasonal events such as morning markets and summer festivals.

The stylish Ebri Shopping Mall was opened in March 2016 and was reconstructed from an old brick factory. This small one floor building has a lot of character with its red brick, wrought iron and wooden veneer and reflects on the town of Ebetsu, which is famous for its brick making industry. The brick building is made entirely from 100% Ebetsu brick and contains a supermarket, a coffee and sweets shop, a local grocery and a delicious wood fire Italian restaurant. A lot of local produce from the surrounding areas are sold here!

Sweet potatoes
There are about a dozen shops in the building. There are some clothing stores but the main focus is on the local food grown in local areas. The supermarket there is a great place to buy some local fare. The space is very open and customers can walk around and poke their noses into the various kitchens of the sweet potato shop, coffee shop, and the Italian restaurant. At the coffee shop try the rich, delicious ‘Nopporo Coffee’ blend and purchase some packets to take home! There is also a roasted sweet potato shop as well, the “Brick Hut”. These fragrant potatoes are baked in a stone kiln made from materials sent from Italy & France. The kiln was created by a master craftsman and it brings out the unique flavors. French fries, sweet potatoes, and roast potatoes are on the menu. This shop is open until 19:00.
Lemon & Seafood Pasta
Ebri Shopping Mall is a 10 minute drive from Nopporo Forest Park. If you are hungry after seeing the sites of the Centennial Memorial Tower, or the Hokkaido historical Museum then there is a nice little Italian restaurant here, at Ebri Shopping Mall. Arles Il Mattone Italian Restaurant has a wooden kiln and makes its dishes from Ebetsu ingredients. There is lunch set meal (from 11:00 – 14:00) and a dinner set meal (17:00 – 20:30). The meals, come with a buffet style appetizer and cost around ¥1200. The all you can eat appetizer has a delicious selection of vegetables, olives, pastas, and meats. The main meals are made up of pastas, and wood fired pizzas. For dessert, there is also a large selection of all you can eat buffet style cakes and puddings. Fabulous Cafe is an arty coffee shop that serves not only as a cafe, but as a clothing boutique, a plant shop, and as a small art gallery. It can also be hired for functions and events. The cafe seats up to about 40 people and is best for couples or up to 4 people. The place has a very 1920’s art deco feel to it. It definitely has a lot of style and its interior design is exceptionally done. It is decked out with art, bronze sculptures, leather couches and plants.

The cafe serves up a delicious menu of pastas,beef dishes, 
chicken,galletes, and desserts. This mouth watering selection will please any guest. The galletes look particularly good! Fabulous also has its own special coffee blend and has a big selection of coffees, teas, and drinks. On entering, there is a large, unique drip coffee apparatus which is a centre piece for the shop. This coffee shop has a seasonal menu and from 11am – 3pm it has a special lunch time menu that comes with a coffee or beverage of your choice for an extra ¥300.
What sets this cafe apart from the rest is that half of the shop is a clothing boutique. Fabulous has its own range of clothing, and jewelry. The designs in the jewelry are beautifully crafted and worth a look. Plants, cacti, and sculptures are all on sale and its not a bad idea to peruse while waiting for your lunch or coffee. You might find a hidden something that’s a must have! If clothing, trinkets, or plants aren’t your thing thing, then there is a small gallery of paintings, prints, and images that you can also purchase! Every month on the walls there is an exhibition by local artists. There is definitely a lot to see than just the coffee at Fabulous Cafe!

Beef and rice dish
Located at the Richmond Hotel, Modish Cafe is a great place for lunch, dinner, breakfast, or just for a coffee and dessert. Also a dining bar, Modish Cafe serves up delicious and reasonably priced Western style dishes. Modish also has a buffet style plan. There is plenty of seating for up to 72 people, has a smoking area, a large TV for the solo customer and its conveniently located in the middle of Sapporo. It’s also located at the entrance to the Richmond Hotel so its super convenient for the guests there.
