Beautiful old architecture
Factory Renga-Kan is a part of the shopping complex, known as ‘Sapporo Factory’, which is made up of four large buildings. Built originally in 1876 as the Sapporo Pioneering Beer Brewery, the Factory complex is now used as a shopping centre, for a place to dine, and to take in a piece of history in the Sapporo area. The Renga-Kan is located on the western side of Factory, and is a short walk across the courtyard from ‘the atrium’. The Renga-Kan, which literally translates to ‘Brick Museum’ is a three story building that is perfect for shopping for arts & crafts, a photographic spot, and for some fine dining.

The brewery observation hall
The first floor has kids park, the Sapporo Kaitakushi Brewery where you can observe the brewing process. Right by this brewery is a tasting room, where you can taste some traditional Sapporo beers and a great spot for tourists! On this floor you can also find four restaurants, plus a wine cellar with some fantastic wines! The ‘La Brique’ is a gorgeous French restaurant that is attached to the wine cellar. ‘Terzina Trattoria Pizzeria’ is an Italian restaurant and there is a fresh produce restaurant and market called ‘Fresh Factory’. Last but not least is the beer hall, with some hearty meals and beer!
Shopping area
Where the first floor is for feasting, the second floor is for shopping. Here, through the beautiful old hallways and creaking floorboards you can find an array of arts and craft shops. You can also watch the artists creating their works in their small workshops in the stores. There is jewelry , toys, woodwork and metal work on sale. There is also a furniture store, and an Iranian carpet store with some fantastic wares. The third floor is made up of photographic studios plus a ceramic workshop, kids school, and a theatre academy school.

Pizzas to choose from
Majestic is an Italian restaurant, that can be found in the middle of Sapporo city, a couple of blocks from Odori Park. Located on the basement floor, Majestic serves as a restaurant both for lunch and dinner. Due to its dark and fancy interior, it also serves well as a bar, and is also a popular spot for parties, and wedding functions. Charming interior
Being an Italian style restaurant, Majestic has choices of pasta dishes, pizzas, as well as a sizable selection of antipasti. The menu comes only in Japanese, though the menu some pictures to help decide. The antipasti menu has around fifteen small dishes, such as anchovies and olives, salmon carpaccio, or a shrimp & Tokachi mushroom ‘ajillo’. The thin crust pizzas come in half or full sizes, and the various pastas come in cream or tomato based sauces. There is also a course option. The courses vary from size and cost, from ￥2000 to ￥7000. As Majestic is also a bar they have a great range of wines, beers, and spirits.

Views of the table seating
On the third floor of Maruyama Class, you can find some delicious restaurants. Bibi de Baru de Moon is an Italian restaurant serving up some delicious dishes. There is table dining as well as counter seating. At the counter, there are views of the open kitchen which is a nice touch. Watch as the pizzas are cooked to perfection in the wood fire stove. Baru de Moon is open for lunch, and for dinner, and after a good wander around the Maruyama area, this restaurant a good choice for either occasion.

Bibi de Baru de Moon has a lot to choose from in its menu. They have at least a dozen different pizzas to choose from. Their unique pizzas include traditional ingredients plus a variety of new ones. Looking for an Italian lunch or dinner, or even just a cup of coffee with a friend, Italian Bar Café Milano is a nice restaurant/café to visit. This restaurant opens early for a breakfast or coffee, where you can take a choice from three kinds of panini. There is a nice set menu for lunch. The set menu comes with a small salad, and a drink with your meal. For lunch there are six kinds of Japanese or Italian style spaghetti dishes.

Pleasant interior
Originating in Shibuya in 1976, Yomenya Goemon is a fusion of Italian and Japanese ingredients to create new, as well as traditional pasta dishes. With three locations around Sapporo, you can enjoy some delicious spaghetti dishes at these restaurants. And if you really enjoy the taste of Yomenya Goemon pastas, then you can also take it home! Sauces are available to order at the restaurant, or from their online shop through their website. On the menu, there are the traditional Italian pastas, plus new Japanese dishes such as the bamboo steak and broiled scallop with peperoncino, or the carbonara with cod roe and yuba.

Carbonara with camembert cheese
The Italian ingredients include olive oil from north and southern Italy. Palmigiano is the cheese of choice for Yomenya Goemon, as well as delicious Italian tomatoes that are used in their sauces. And in keeping with the Japanese fusion, the dishes that the meals are served on are made from traditional Arita-yaki (Japanese porcelain). This original pottery is smooth and painted with intricate patterns, to add to the Yomenya Goeman experience.
