Bistro Cobara Hetta is a large restaurant located above Sapporo station. It is part of the Stellar Place dining area and is one of over a dozen restaurants on this floor. Cobara Hetta is a casual dining French restaurant and serves up a variety of dishes either for lunch or dinner (the dinner menu starts from 17:00). They use frsh ingredients from around Hokkaido and take a lot of care in the meals they prepare. They also provide wine matching for some of their dishes to give that extra flavorsome experience. The menu is mainly in Japanese but each dish has a large picture so its easy to just simply point and say “this please”.
So, what do they have? There are a lot of meat dishes such as steaks and hamburgers, including an odd looking steak on steak burger (which is a hamburger with steaks instead of buns). There are pasta dishes, salads and fondue as well. These rich dishes are equalled by their sweets menu. The pancakes and parfaits are popular items on the menu, and don’t forget the roasted French toast with mixed berry & banana. Fo those in the mood for more of a large gathering, they have two kind of party plans to choose from, both include seven dishes. Reservations need to be made at least two days prior. Located in the heart of the Factory shopping center, there are a dozen restaurants to grab some lunch or dinner. Dekitateya is one of these restaurants. It is a large restaurant that has a distinct Japanese feel to it. The restaurant has some nice Japanese design to its interior, and the serveware is crafted beautifully. Each dish comes with an old ceramic pot of tea. The menu only comes in Japanese but it has pictures of each dish, so for those from distant lands, it’s easy to point and order.
The menu has predominantly seafood dishes. The main dish is broiled fish served with a rice bowl, a small salad, a small meat dish and of course, a steaming bowl of miso soup. This is a great lunch set to get. Other dishes include salmon roe, tempura, or shrimp. The alcohol menu is extensive with beer, whiskey (the ever popular highballs), lemon sour and tea, plus shochu and tea which is a nice drink. They also have soft drinks and juices. The staff here are friendly, though not a great of English ability, but this restaurant is a nice Japanese experience.
Sports, sports, sports! Looking for sporting gear? Chance are, you can find it at the Sports House. Convenient location right in the heart of Sapporo. This impressive seven story building is filled with all types of sporting gear and is a good first choice to check if they have what you need. Most of the gear here is for the large summer sports so there is not much winter gear for snowboarding or skiing. If you are lazy to come into town, they have online shopping so you can check the wares via their website. This website has membership as well!
Besides the main store in central Sapporo, and the online shopping store, there are nine other stores throughout Hokkaido. There is a shop at Kushiro, Obihiro, Asahikawa, and Kitami. Plus there are four more locations and outlets in the city of Sapporo. For further store locations, check below! Inzone is a home goods and furniture store located in Sapporo. There are two stores, one being in central Sapporo, the other is in the north west of Sapporo. These stores have some fantastic items to decorate and give your home a great look. Their stores are on the higher end of furniture stores and they sell some real quality goods. As part of the Inzone franchise, there is also a restaurant and coffee shop located in Sapporo called Inzone Table. This delicious cafe (which is nicely decorated with Inzone furniture) has mouth watering dishes on its menu and is a top spot for lunch.
The inzone stores not only cater to those wishing to decorate and furnish their homes, but they also provide items and designs for restaurants and for the office. Their ideas for design ideas can be seen at their seminars for home and apartment owners. They also have model homes and model rooms, which give some great ideas and are useful for those interested in buying. To visit their model homes in Sapporo, simply go their extensive website. Beans Happy – Pies and Softcreams is one of those unique stores that are hidden away in the city of Sapporo. It is not easy to find a meat pie in Sapporo, let alone Hokkaido. But it is here, at Beans Happy, they have some freshly cooked pies that have a variety if fillings. Based on the classic Aussie pie, they have half a dozen savory pies to choose from! For those unfamiliar, start with the original meat pie. Delicious! They also make a meat, cheese & potato pie, a Mexican pie, green curry pie and a green curry pie. All these individually handmade pies include ingredients from Hokkaido. If you are looking for something a little sweeter, try the apple, berry, or chocolate banana pies.
Apart from the pies at Beans Happy, they have a couple of curries on the menu to enjoy. This store is nicely laid out and a comfortable restaurant with outside seating as well. Using milk and fresh cream from Hidaka Dairy, Beans Happy has their own original rich soft ice cream to try. There are also two kinds of mouth watering parfait to eat. Their drink menu includes coffees, fresh juices, and beer. You can get a set menu which either comes with a drink and salad or ice cream for dessert. This is a great spot to have lunch and relax in nice surroundings.

There are few chains of coffee shops that can be found around Hokkaido. St Marc Cafe is just one of these! With numerous stores around Japan, there are five locations in Sapporo, with three others in Asahikawa, Muroran, and Hakodate. It is here at St. Marc Cafe you can find coffees, desserts and sweets, plus small lunch sets and food. This coffee chain has more choice than most other coffee chains. They have over a dozen hot drinks. Try the Yuzucha which is honey mixed with yuzu (citrus fruit), or the Belgian chocolate cocoa. Delicious!
St. Marc Cafe also has a big selection of ice drinks as well. And what would a coffee shop be without pastries and sweets? You can enjoy french bread, hamburgers, and a selection of danishes. Also, as with many other cafes, they have parfaits which are a popular favorite with many Japanese. The value set lunches include a coffee, a sweet pastry and a savory dish.
