This is a nice little coffee shop on the outskirts of Sapporo on the west side. It is not a far walk from Maruyama subway station and is also easily accessed by car. The coffee shop is two stories plus a small gift store behind it. The food here is very good and you can find some hearty meals such as hamburger steaks, pastas and a selection of meats. This coffee shop is great spot for lunch. A lot of the seating here is catered for couples or for small groups of up to four.

There are quite a lot of nice coffees here to enjoy. The small windows here overlook the main road but there is a large forest area that overlooks the cafe offering some greenery. There is counter seating down the bottom as well. There are a few items on sale here including cups and some t-shirts to buy. Out the back, you can find more of these goods. If you have driven here, there is a small parking area which caters for about six cars. This is a comfortable cafe with good food and is one of many in the near area.

Getting There
King Xhmu is on the southern end of Susukino. It's a 6 minute walk from either Nakajima Koen station or Susukino station. Best to exit Susukino station and walk south down the main road of Susukino. The club will be on the right down south 6 street.
4 Chome-424-10 Minami 7 Jonishi, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido 064-0807

King Xhmu is one of the biggest clubs in Sapporo and Hokkaido, if not the biggest. The club has a striking edifice, that of stone serpents and a giant Aztecan face bearing down over the street. The inside is equally impressive with a three story high interior decked out with cool designs such as silver gilded snakes, skulls, and a giant bird of prey spreading its wings over the bar. The club has a main dance floor area with a stage, two bars, a smaller dance floor on the second floor plus a women’s sitting area. The club is mostly popular after 23:00 where it gets busy.

For those entering the club, after showing ID, party goers will realize that men have to pay more than their female counterparts. Women are usually free. For those unfamiliar with the club, the cost is around ¥3500 for men. The club, although of its large size, has a relatively small dance area and standing area. A lot of the club is made up of (and usually empty) VIP lounge areas that a cordoned off from the main area. These VIP areas are the only places to sit in the club unfortunately, so unless you want to spend up to an extra ¥20,000 you have to stand.  Cocktails, beers, and champagne are sold at the bar. Cocktails are served in small plastic cups and the small plastic shot glasses are rarely filled to the top. It’s better to order bottled beer to get your moneys worth. Drinks are around ¥500. There are events throughout the year, so check the website for more information.

Salt Moderate is a dining bar in central Sapporo. Its main attraction is its oysters. If you are looking for seafood plus some western style meats and dishes, this is a good place to try. It can get busy on the weekends, so it’s better to reserve a seat or table. There kitchen here is open so you can see the busy cooks getting the tasty dishes ready. As we’ve said, the oysters here a good and fresh and you can order them individually or there are oyster platters available. These are served on beds of ice. There are different servings of oysters with different toppings, such as fish eggs, cheese, and a chili sauce. Fantastic!

There are many other great dishes here too! Steaks served on a wooden slab, hand made fries, avocado salads, plus a nice chicken dish. All this food is nicely presented by the relatively young  staff here. To go with the food you can enjoy an all you can drink option. This goes for 90 minutes and includes beer. This place is good for small groups of up to four, or for couples to celebrate a birthday or on a date. This is a smoking establishment so be aware of you don’t like smoking. This definitely a place to visit again.

This park is a popular place to enjoy some outdoor scenery. Koganeyu Sakura no Mori Park is especially beautiful in the spring and the autumn. The spring time sees the arrival the cherry blossoms that come out early May. This is a nice space to walk around and enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom. There are a few walking paths around the park plus there are large well kept grass areas to enjoy. These spaces are the perfect spot to have a picnic or sit and lay down on a blanket and take in the fresh air. This is not a busy park and is great for couples or for kids to run around.

The autumn here is equally as good as the spring. The changing of the leaves here is beautiful as there is a backdrop of the mountain foliage across the river on the other side of the road. This park is also surrounded by orchards as well. Walking around this park with the changing leaves and a brisk breeze is fantastic. There is a main path that heads up at an incline to the top of the park. At the top, there are some benches under an awning to rest and get a view of the whole park.
